PCCRC & Quality in Colonoscopy

The Expert Working Group ‘Right-Sided Lesions and Interval Cancers’ of the Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening Committee of the World Endoscopy Organization was initiated in 2012. The group’s focus has changed throughout the years and in 2021, under leadership of Matt Rutter and Jeffrey Lee, the title was changed to PCCRC & Quality in Colonoscopy.

Chairs:

Dr Matt Rutter (UK)
Dr Jeffrey K. Lee (USA)

The main goals of this working group are:

  • To monitor interval CRC during screening and colonoscopy surveillance to facilitate benchmarking and comparison across studies and programs
  • To propose a method to perform root cause analysis of interval cancers in order to identify modifiable factors
  • To propose solutions to minimize the interval CRC rate
  • To create a platform for collaboration across screening organizations, programs and facilitate worldleading research
