The WEO International School of EUS (WISE) founded in 2018, is a state-of-the-art EUS training program focused on teaching a specialized group of doctors at an early stage in their careers. WEO’s aim is to educate the selected trainees and to provide them with the tools necessary to become future leaders in the area of EUS.
Under the guidance of course founder and director, Professor Dong-Wan Seo, WISE trainees are exposed to the full spectrum of EUS training, from basic anatomy to interventional and advanced EUS. WISE courses comprise lectures, case presentations, and hands-on training using phantom and live animals, as well as observation of real human cases where applicable.
Building on the strength of WISE, and continuing the WISE program objectives, WEO is happy to announce that a similar course with hands-on training, The WISE Egyptian Chapter 2022, will commence in December 2022. This course will focus on linear EUS and will consist of lectures, case presentations with discussion, and hands-on training on live cases. This program was arranged and reviewed after many meetings between Professor Dong-Wan Seo and Dr. Elsayed Ghoneem, Consultant in Gastroenterology, Mansoura University and Egyptian Liver Hospital, Egypt, and one of the WISE 2020 Emerging Stars.
This course is jointly organized by WEO and the Egyptian Liver Research Institute and Hospital (ELRIAH) under the patronage its CEO, Professor Gamal Shiha, Professor of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Mansoura University.
