WEO was again pleased to be a key scientific partner at the recent 20th Beijing International Digestive Diseases Forum 2023, with the following contributions from WEO current and past leadership:

  • Hisao Tajiri: State-of-the-art endoscopic diagnosis of upper GI neoplasia
  • Lars Aabakken: Biliary strictures – assessment and management
  • Jean-Francois Rey: Motorized spiral endoscopy update and clinical practice – Live endoscopy demonstration
  • Nageshwar Reddy: Green endoscopy
  • Dong Wan Seo: EUS-TTNB for histologic diagnosis of pancreatic cyst – Live endoscopy demonstration

The 20th Beijing International Digestive Disease Forum (BIDDF Online Meeting) held on June 15–18, 2023, was organized by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA), the World Association of Chinese Gastroenterologists & Hepatologists, the National Clinical Research Center for Digestive Diseases, the Chinese Association of Gastroenterologists & Hepatologists, The Society for Clinical Trials and Big Data Quality Centers of the China Quality Association for Pharmaceuticals, the Digestive Endoscopology Academy of China, the Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, The Digestive Medical Coordinated Development Center of Beijing Hospitals Authority, the Institute of Beijing Clinical Medicine, the Beijing Digestive Disease Center, the Department of Gastroenterology, Capital Medical University, and the Chinese Institute of Digestive Endoscopy.

BIDDF 2023 welcomed 2573 participants onsite. Altogether the Forum included 28 special academic sessions, 14 special conferences, 42 academic sessions, and 813 lectures. There were livestreamed demonstrations of 57 cases, showcasing more than 20 techniques.

WEO congratulates Professor Zhang Shu Tian, Chair of BIDDF for this outstanding achievement and looks forward to even closer collaboration in scientific exchanges.
